Become a Poll Worker
Poll workers are volunteers who help administer voting at neighborhood polling places on Election Day. Poll worker responsibilities include setting up polling places and opening for voters by 7AM, checking in voters, issuing ballots, answering voter questions, handing out “I Voted!” stickers, and closing the polls.
For their one-day service, poll workers receive a stipend along with a custom, election-specific pin in recognition of their efforts. Poll workers’ stipends range from $225 to $295 for serving in the November 8 election.
To be eligible to serve as a poll worker, you must be:
1 A U.S. citizen and registered to vote in California or a legal permanent resident, and
2 At least 18 years old or an eligible high school student
